It is the most wonderful time of the year….. which means, London is now decorated with Christmas lights and Christmas markets are aplenty! We both love a good Christmas market. There is nothing better than mulled wine, warm donuts, and plenty of Christmassy vibes! Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park is probably the most famous Christmas Market of them all which is understandable because of the size of it and all of the different things that you can do there, however it can be expensive. We have visited almost all of the free Christmas markets available in London and below are some of our absolute favourites that we think you should try!
Trafalgar Square

If you are wanting a Christmas Market that also has some incredible historic backdrops, then Trafalgar Square is the place to go. Two rows of festive chalets line up in front of the National Gallery, filled with food, drink, and gift stalls. There is a seating area for those eating and drinking, so it is a perfect place to sit down, relax and really take in the breath-taking beauty of the historic square.
Southbank

Another great Christmas market to visit with some stunning views is at South Bank. Here the annual market runs alongside the Thames and offers up some great gifts and goodies to buy, as well as some great food.
The location of this market is fabulous, and you can even find the Underbelly Christmas Market right next door which also offers some amazing festive vibes!
Leicester Square

Right in the heart of London’s West End you can find a Christmas Market with some great entertainment. Here you can catch good time gal and Melbourne’s corporate Queen, Karen From Finance debuting her one-woman show ‘Out of Office’. Or go and see the captivating La Clique, featuring talents from the crème de la crème of cabaret, comedy, and circus performers from across the world over – showing for 8 weeks in the Spiegeltent!
Covent Garden

Covent Garden is a winter wonderland during the festive period. The decorations there are astonishing and the whole area is like its own Santa’s grotto. Here you can find a winter forest archway, market stalls, a huge Christmas tree, and luxury bauble-themed dining domes! If this isn’t enough, snow is set to fall around the large Christmas tree on the hour, every hour, which makes for a very festive backdrop for any wintery photos!
Selfridges – Edwards Mews

This year Selfridges have brought a Christmas market to Edwards Mews, which is just behind the Selfridges London store. Here there are plenty of stalls that will fulfill even the wildest of festive foodie dreams. There is also a huge Helter Skelter in the middle of the market and some great bar stalls where you can pick up some Christmassy tipples.
