West and East Wittering have been part of my life since I was a teenager. My Mum visited West Wittering every year when she was a child and once I was a teenager we started that tradition back up. She eventually decided to buy a property down there and make the move whilst I was still at University. She now owns the beach and homeware shop, New Waves Box in West Wittering, which I highly recommend stopping at if you get the chance! Like most poor graduates, I moved back home for a year whilst I found my feet and this for me meant getting to move to the beautiful beach town of West Wittering.
West Wittering is quite a quiet area, especially in the winter, when the weather is much colder. But in the summer, it is heaving with beach goers and those looking to get their fix of beach days!
One great thing about the Witterings is the fantastic restaurants on offer. Below I have listed out some of my favourite places to go for you to check out.
For something fancy
The Wittering

The Wittering is a newly opened restaurant, with new management taking over the formally known ‘Old House at Home’. I recently got to try their food on a visit with my family and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The food is mainly traditional English dishes and is always beautifully presented!
They also have a large beer garden lined with cute beach huts that are heated, which can be enjoyed all year round.
The Lamb Inn

The Lamb Inn is a country restaurant found in West Wittering that offers fantastic food, including pub classics and burgers. Not too long ago, they had a beer garden renovation, and it is now a truly amazing place to sit and eat or drink outside! With toasty heaters and lots of undercover seating, you can even enjoy this beer garden in the winter.
Drifters

Drifters is a relatively new restaurant in East Wittering, which offers quirky, modern vibes, great food, and really yummy cocktails.
They also have an outdoor decking area, some of which is undercover, which is great for both warm sunny days and rainier days where you still want to sit outside!
For Pub Grub
The Shore Inn

Situated just off East Wittering beach is the Shore Inn pub. It is popular with locals mainly for a place to go and have a drink with friends and family, but they also serve great pub food too. The pub is dog friendly and has seating both inside and out.
For Quick Wins
The Boulevard

If you are looking for a great breakfast spot, then look no further than The Boulevard Restaurant in East Wittering. They serve fry ups and other breakfast staples in the morning and then in the day they serve dishes such as fish and chips, wraps and pasta. There is something for everyone at the Boulevard and the food is served quicky.
Dom Italian Restaurant

Dom Ristorante is a small family run restaurant found in East Wittering. It has beautiful décor and serves extraordinary Italian cuisine, with a vegan menu available. Here you can find pizzas, pasta dishes and some really tasty meat plates.
For Sea Views
Billy’s on the beach

Situated right on Bracklesham Bay, Billy’s on the Beach is a beautiful restaurant that serves breakfast lunch and dinner with some of the best views in the area. They also have their very own takeaway van where you can pick up smaller dishes, ice cream and snacks. At night Billy’s becomes a fantastic little spot for dinner, with a menu consisting of fish dishes, burgers and more.
